Transformational Breathwork

Transformational Breathwork is a powerful modality that can process buried emotions, release trauma, and promote a deeply healing experience. This particular type of Breathwork gets you out of your head and into your body where many of our subconscious beliefs, emotions and traumas are stuck. It’s been described as 20 years of therapy in 27 minutes without saying a word, and many have compared it to similar experiences they‘ve had with psychedelics without the side effects or a need to ingest a substance. Transformative Breathwork can leave you with a sense of lightness, connectedness, awareness and peace unlike any other experience. It goes directly to the source. During this 3 hour workshop, we’ll begin by breaking down what the experience is all about - everything from the scientific aspects to the spiritual ones. We’ll then practice the Breathwork technique and establish personal intentions for the Breathwork experience.

An active Transformational Breathwork session:

  • 5 to 10 minutes of guided preparation

  • 22 to 27 minutes of active Breathwork to a specific playlist- typically 6 to 7 songs

  • Audible release post active Breathwork

  • 15 to 20 minutes of Savasana with musi

This is unlike yogic breathing, but if you have a pranayama practice it will certainly be beneficial.

 Participants can/might experience:

Physically
dizziness, shaking, tingling, heat and cold, hand cramping commonly referred to as “tetany,” jaw tightness, or slight nausea.
Our body has no language, so we’ll experience all kinds of physical sensations as we breathe together. This is safe and normal. It’s the body’s way of moving energy. These physical sensations stop immediately when the Breathwork ceases unlike psychedelic experiences.
Mentally
monkey mind, resistance, overthinking, feelings of anxiety
Your mind will do anything it can to stop you from doing the Breathwork. It doesn’t want to go to certain places, and it does not like when the body takes over and processes.
Resistance will come from your mind. This is expected and normal. I will be there with you to remind you of this and hold a safe space for you.

Emotionally
Crying, anger, laughter, fear, rage, deep love, connectedness. You’ll feel lots of emotions. That’s the goal - we need to feel them to heal them. Go right towards them. Many of these emotions have been trapped in your body for decades. Feeling them allows them to metabolize. Your body will only process what it’s ready to, so trust that it will bring up only what you’re prepared to deal with. You may feel the urge to make noise, scream, yell or sob. If
this is the case- FEEL THAT. Stop the Breathwork, moan, cry, rage, laugh, sigh...whatever, then resume the breathing once the emotional piece has had space to surface. We want these things to come up. It’s safe and you will be compassionately held as you process.
